Rungu via Ferrata

Description of the Route

Rungu Via Ferrata follows the elegant south-east ridge of a rock formation below the mighty peak of Spanstinden. The entire climb is well protected, the distances between the anchor points are short and a 16 mm steel-cable as well as stepping aids facilitate the ascent.

The ferrata climber will experience steep and sharp ridges and breathtaking views onto the Lavangen fjord and the nearby waterfall.

Before reaching the Nepal bridge a small, exposed wooden benches invite the climber to rest. Again, the view opens up to the Lavangen fjord and the upper Spansdalen valley.

After crossing the Nepal bridge the climb leads steeply to the top of the Via Ferrata. From there it is only minutes to the platform of the Midnattsoltrappa. 2217 stairs will lead back to the start point.
